About the Tractor Introduced in 1939 through a historic partnership between Henry Ford and Harry Ferguson, the Ford 9N broke the mould of traditional, heavy farm machinery. Built around Ferguson's revolutionary 3-point hitch and hydraulic lift system, the compact 9N was designed specifically to replace horse teams on small and medium acreage, making modern mechanized farming affordable for the masses. During World War II, these simple, reliable machines became vital workhorses for agricultural production across Britain and North America. Many farms operating multiple at a time. Thanks to their durable engineering, thousands of 9Ns remained in active service for decades post-war, and they remain beloved staples of rural life, agricultural rallies, and preserved heritage sites today.
